Ladbrokes odds show that the Mayoral contest is tight two horse-race

Today leading national bookmaker Ladbrokes have released odds showing that they are predicting that May’s Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Mayoral election will be a two-horse race between the Conservative candidate (2/5) and Lib Dem Rod Cantrill (5/2).

They also show Labour are out of the race with long odds of 16/1, while Green candidate Julie Howell is predicted to come sixth behind UKIP and independent candidate Peter Dawe.

Commenting on the news a spokesperson for the Cantrill campaign said:

“These odds clearly show that this election is a two-horse race between Rod and the Conservative candidate.

“Rod is starting today on the same odds that Sarah Olney started on before her recent by-election victory in Richmond Park.

“Rod’s experience, knowledge and vision for our region show how he is exactly the right person to be the first Mayor of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.”
